Marriage contract of Shahrbanu, the daughter of Karbalayi Muhammad from Banaru, and Karbalayi ‘Abbas, the son of Muhammad Hashim from Banaru. The mahr is one hundred tumans, of which the bride forgave seventy five tumans and the remaining twenty five tumans remains the groom's debt.

Marriage contract of Mah Parah Khanum and Sultan Husayn Mirza, 8 May 1854
Marriage contract between Mah Parah Khanum, daughter of Bahram Mirza and Sultan Husayn Mirza, son of Ahmad ‘Ali Mirza. The sidaq (mahr) includes 1,000 ashrafi tumans of 18 nukhud weight, a newly-minted Nasir al-Din shahi coin, a Qur’an worth 50 tumans, a male domestic slave [ghulam], and a female domestic slave [jariah], valued at fifty tumans each. Inscribed under the top decorative medallion is the name of Bahram Mirza, possibly the father of Shahzadah Sultan Husayn Mirza.

Letter from Mahd-i ‘Ulya to Nasir al-Din Shah, 1863 or 1864
Mahd-i ‘Ulya responds to Nasir al-Din Shah's letter and explains how her servants found the petition the soldiers threw into their yard. She then requested ‘Ayn al-Mulk deliver the petition to Nasir al-Din Shah. Mahd-i ‘Ulya also mentions Amin al-Mulk asking her to reassure the soldiers that they could go and receive their wages from him.

Marriage contract of Fatimah Baygum and Muhammad Husayn Mustawfi from Herat, 1889
Marriage contract of Fatimah Baygum, the daughter of Aqa Mirza Jan Mustawfi, and Mirza Muhammad Husayn Mustawfi from Herat, the son of Mirza Muhammad from Herat, with a mahr of 300 tumans including: gold and jewelry worth 100 tumans, a carpet, bedding and copper worth 100 tumans, a Qurʼan worth fifty tumans, and an Abyssinian female slave worth fifty tumans. The marriage vows were said by the attorneys of both parties.

Marriage contract of Shirin Jan and Ghulam‘ali, 1858
Marriage contract of Shirin Jan, daughter of Mirza the tailor, and Ghulam‘ali, ghulam [servant/slave] of Haji ‘Abd Allah (son of Haji Kalb‘ali), dated July 23, 1858. The mahr is eight tumans plus one-sixth of a house in the Shams Abad neighborhood of Khuzan. A note declares that Haji ‘Abd Allah transferred the ownership of one-sixth of the house to Ghulam‘ali. On verso, dated August 24, 1866: Shirin Jan settled her mahr with Haji Muhammad Baqir Sultan, son of Haji Kalb‘ali from Khuzan, for forty rupees. Settlement between Riza Quli Khan and his mother, 1893
The second wife of Mirza Fazl Allah Khan [Agha Baygum Khanum] transfers the ownership of all her belongings (including whatever she owns until her death) to her son, Riza Quli Khan, in exchange for one hundred dinars. The condition is that Riza Quli Khan will be responsible for the food and clothing expenses of his mother as long as she lives. Moreover, after her death, he shall spend fifty tumans of his own money for the funeral expenses. A male slave, named Qanbar, and a female slave, named Tuti, are included in this settlement. Letter to Nasir al-Din Shah from one of his wives, 1873 or 1874
She complains about Nasir al-Din Shah's harsh response to her requesting to get back her tea and coffee set from Mahd-i ‘Ulya. She mentions Nasir al-Din Shah's different manner toward his other wife, Shams al-Dawlah. At the end, she pleads again to send Haji Sa‘id to get her tea and coffee set, which she needs in order to pay her debts.

Letter to Nasir al-Din Shah, 1864 or 1865
The writer reports on attendance in the ceremony celebrating the Shah's birthday, the well-being of princesses and people of the harem, and services by gatekeepers and other servants. He mentions informing Mahd-i ‘Ulya about completing construction in Niyavaran and her decision about returning after the tenth for a lucky arrival time. The writer has also prepared for bringing other members of the harem. He adds that upon the addressee's request they have received part of Fakhr al-Muluk’s stipend from Mu‘ayyir al-Mamalik.

Marriage contract of Khanum Buzurg, daughter of Lutf Allah Mirza, and Mirza Masʻud, son of Mirza Muhammad Husayn, with a mahr of 1120 tumans, which includes: two shares of use of water from a qanat worth 500 tumans, clothes worth 200 tumans, gold worth 150 tumans, two carpets worth 50 tumans, 50 mans [each man is three kilograms] of copperware made in Yazd worth 75 tumans, silver worth 250 tumans, a Qurʼan worth 40 tumans, a slave and a male servant worth 80 tumans. These items were settled for the stipulated amount of money [1120 tumans].
